To mark the end of a fantastic 2016 we attended the ADI South West Study Club at the newly opened Aston Martin Showroom in Bristol. It has been over eight years since the last ADI South West Study club and the turnout was great! Hosted by Mr Georgios Margaritis with an enthralling presentation by Stephen Jones, delving into over 8 years of his implant cases to explore the effectiveness of the immediate placement of implants into infected sockets "Immediate Implants Into Infected Sockets. Miracle or Madness?". Showcasing his failures and successes in an honest interpretation of his own work.
Using the CBCT image as a map, Navident guides surgeons just like a GPS guides drivers. Navident, dynamically tracking the drill and the patient’s jaw, provides guidance and visual feedback to ensure the implants are placed according to plan.
Computer-guided freehand surgery with Navident’s dynamic navigation system enables implant dentists to take precision to a new level. Navident superimposes the depth, angle and position of the drill onto the CBCT image. Whilst there is no physical guide, a simple scanning template (NaviStent) is used to support a reference marker - the fiducial - which is auto-registered by the Navident system.
